A rare and simply fantastic Scabbard Tip or Chape highly decorated in the Scandinavian “Borre” Style. Borre is a find site in Norway where this art style was first noted. The Chape you see here is cast in bronze and has an untouched 1100 year green patina. Flawless condition. There is a face visible on one side that may represent Odin and Pagan Solar Symbols along the bottom edge. Part of a long time European collection.
